Welcome to Advancetech Aircraft Maintenance, Inc.
Welcome to the official webpage of Advancetech Aircraft Maintenance, Inc. and my first blog. It seems it’s been years in the making, but I am proud to see my company and what we’ve been able to grow into over the last 30 years represented for all to see on the world wide web.
Advancetech Aircraft Maintenance, Inc. is the reality of a dream conceived by a young military aircraft mechanic, my father, Charles A. (Chuck ) Pittenger, a young man who enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the age of 17. Upon his retirement from the U.S. Navy, Chuck, a master mechanic and machinist as well as an accomplished pilot, worked with Monarch Aviation in Monterey, CA for several years before deciding to follow his dream of owning his own aircraft maintenance company. Advancetech Aircraft Maintenance, Inc. was established in 1984 and originally occupied one-half of the large city-owned hangar at the Salinas Municipal Airport. Also in 1984, Advancetech Aircraft Maintenance Inc. became CRS # BL3R401L, as it was presented with its Federal Aviation Administration certified repair station certificate. In 1998, my dad and I began the unbearably slow process of the planning and construction of a new family-owned modern hangar facility on the south side of the field, and in 2001, Advancetech opened up doors for business to better service our current customers and bring new customers into our family. As I recall, our first new customer was a company from San Jose, CA with a Beechcraft King Air F90 who needed the Pratt & Whitney hot section inspections performed on his left and right engines. As Advancetech has been able to provide engine hot section inspections since the mid 1980’s in house, we took care of his engine inspections, and the rest of the maintenance on his aircraft followed.
We’ve come a long way since the early days of the business, but so has aviation maintenance. In the past 30 years, airplane technology has grown by leaps and bounds, especially in the world of corporate turboprop and business jet aircraft. Specializing the in the care and maintenance of the Beechcraft King Air series and Cessna Citation series aircraft, we have been able to keep up with the ever changing maintenance requirements of these aircraft by both purchasing required additional test equipment and, most of all, by the recurrent training of its management and maintenance staff.
